Greetings PCB Peers,
We, the members of the PCB Conference Program and Planning Team (CPPT), cordially invite you to join us for the 2026 PCB Conference and Convention. Again this year, the conference will be held on the Zoom virtual platform. The dates are Thursday, October 22 through Sunday, October 25. The weekend’s theme is “Growing Independent, Together.” Within this packet you’ll find the exciting details we have planned.
We chose our theme because we feel it is important to showcase resources and tools that can enhance attendees’ sense of independence as people who are blind or have low vision and yet remind everyone that one way to achieve independence is to work together. The sessions will include information and techniques for practicing self-advocacy, acquiring professional help, working with new technology including AI, exploring technology and guide dogs, financial planning, finding residential housing as a senior, psychological growth, and feeling comfortable helping others including the sighted. Attendees will leave equipped with both practical resources and a renewed sense of community, reinforcing the idea that we grow stronger and more independent when we grow together.
For the 2026 conference, our team is continuing three administrative strategies to increase the number of attendees so we can spread the word about PCB.
First, we are waving a registration fee so everyone can afford to attend. Second, we are offering an incentive to bring even more people to our conference and into our PCB community. If ever there was a time to invite or encourage your friends who are not currently PCB peers to register and attend our conference, this is it. Not only can they attend for free, but for every non-member registrant you refer who has not recently attended a PCB Conference, you will get an entry into a drawing for a $50 Amazon gift card. Third, in our program book we are giving you the opportunity to share a 15-word community shout-out. We’ll list your message to your chapter, friend, spouse, or whoever, when you donate a minimum of $5 to support the conference. These salutations are meant to encourage and uplift each other.
As you read through the enclosed preliminary schedule and information sheet, we believe you will find many presentations and activities of interest. The schedule is labeled as preliminary because some presentations are still being finalized, and exhibitors continue to register.
The enclosed information sheet provides all of the details you need to know about the administrative logistics for the conference. Once you’ve had a chance to review all of the documents in this packet, please complete and send in the enclosed registration form with your participation choices. If you prefer, registration can also be completed over the phone at 877-617-7407 Ext. 800 or online using the link above. Please don’t delay your registration because October will be here before you know it.
If you need additional information about the 2026 PCB Conference and Convention, we encourage you to check out the conference information being posted to our website, social media accounts, on the PCB-L listserv, and posted to option 2 on the PCB Information Line. Don’t forget to talk to your friends about the conference and encourage them to register. We will all grow as we explore our independence together. We look forward to zooming together soon.
