Once again, the Bureau of Blindness and Visual Services (BBVS) and the Pennsylvania Council of the Blind (PCB) will be co-sponsoring the Vision Works Expo alongside the annual PCB conference. The event provides an opportunity for both teens and adults who are blind or visually impaired and the professionals in this field to learn more about employment success and strategies. The expo will include: demonstrations of low vision devices and adaptive technology used on the job; information from HR professionals on how to get hired at various companies within the region; employer informational & professional mentor one-on-one sessions; and networking opportunities with people who are blind or visually impaired working in a variety of fields. The event takes place on Friday, October 19 from 8:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the DoubleTree by Hilton Pittsburgh-Green Tree, the site of the 2018 PCB Conference. The street address is 500 Mansfield Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15205. The seminar is FREE, but registration is required because BBVS will be providing complimentary lunch for attendees. Complimentary shuttle transportation will also be available from the BBVS office at 531 Penn Avenue in downtown. Please note, registration for this event is separate from PCB conference registration.
