New BBVS Director

Earlier this year, David Denotaris, the Director of the Pennsylvania Bureau of Blindness and Visual Services was promoted to become the Director of the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation, the parent agency of BBVS. On Monday November 16, 2015 Joseph Strechay became the new Director of BBVS. Strechay has extensive professional experience assisting individuals who are blind or visually impaired. For the last six years he managed the American Foundation for the Blind’s CareerConnect program. There he coordinated the nationwide mentoring program that connects successfully employed individuals who are visually impaired with others who want to learn more about working while blind. He also worked on transition and employment initiatives at the New Jersey Commission for the Blind and the Florida Department for the Blind.
