The Pennsylvania council of the Blind (PCB), a peer network for all impacted by vision loss, announces a new and
extraordinary opportunity for those attending a post-secondary vocational or educational institution. Whether you are seeking a professional certification, a bachelor’s degree, or the like, whether part- or full-time, we want to salute your hard work and dedication to excellence.
At this year’s conference and convention, being held from October 17-20, 2019, at the Crowne Plaza in Harrisburg, PCB will be presenting a $500 Merit Award to one extraordinary Pennsylvania student. This is not a scholarship. There are no restrictions on how or on what the money is spent. Applicants must be over 18, must be blind or visually impaired, and must commit to attending at least one full day of the 2019 PCB Conference and Convention. PCB will pay for all related expenses for the top three Merit Award finalists to attend the conference weekend for the grand prize announcement.
PCB strives each year to offer its members a conference that engages all, offers learning opportunities, and provides an environment in which persons with vision loss can socialize and share experiences. This year’s theme, “Peers Challenging Beliefs” will provide many opportunities for learning and growing.
We hope you will take advantage of this opportunity and apply for the PCB Merit Award without delay! Simply complete the application and send it to email@example.com by the Award deadline of September 9, 2019. The three finalists will be notified by September 16, 2019 and invited to our Conference and Convention in October. If you have any questions or need more information, please do not hesitate to contact our Membership Team Chair Mary Ann Grignon, (570) 807-1276, firstname.lastname@example.org
