Thank you to the members of this past year’s committee: Al Pietrolungo, Rodger Simmons, George Holliday, Tony Swartz, Sue Lichtenfels, and John Horst for all their time on conference calls. As we look toward 2015, we welcome Tom Burgander to the committee.
The cartridge distribution of the PCB Advocate seems to be going smoothly because all of you are sending those cartridges back. Don’t forget to check thoroughly just in case your cartridge was not erased properly; other recordings may still be there.
The first step toward “virtualizing” the office has been taken. A laptop was purchased to allow Gail to complete some projects from home.
A first step is being taken concerning members of ACB affiliates who are not currently members of PCB. Several of these members belong to the Braille Revival League. They are being called by members of the Braille and Accessible Formats Committee to gauge their interest in signing on. The PCB Membership Committee will be contacting the additional ACB affiliate members. We will also certainly try to bring them into the PCB membership.
The leadership training via conference call will take place in two one-hour segments this spring. We have determined eight main attributes of a good leader and these will be discussed with major bullet points under each.
Definite plans are under way to have a table at the May Lions convention. We also hope to make a presentation as part of their program.
Hoping that your holidays are full of blessings, cheer and happiness, I bid you a very Happy New Year.
