By Tony Swartz, Auction Coordinator
In the event that you’ve been on a several-month vacation to another planet, here’s late breaking news! PCB will be holding our annual Live Auction at this year’s conference on Friday evening October 19th at 8:00 p.m. with a pre-auction preview at 7:30 p.m.
For those who have generously contributed an item or items to this year’s PCB Live Auction, thank you for your generosity. Please deliver your contributions to the auction item receiving room on Friday between 11:45 AM and 4 PM. The earlier, the better so that auction items can be organized and labeled in time for the auction preview. The auction receiving room will be located in the long hall leading to the general session ballroom, as it was last year. More specific directions to locate this room will be provided in the conference hotel description and posted to the PCB-L listserv closer to conference time. Please do not drop off items at the PCB registration table. Should you have any questions regarding item drop-off, please contact Tony Swartz by phone at 610-360-1732 or by email at email@example.com.
If you are unable to attend the conference, you are invited to participate in our live auction by phone. To participate, call in at 515-604-9995 and use access code 479593 followed by the pound key. Note this is a long-distance call.
Call into the auction line no later than 7:45 to provide your name and contact information to the phone host so we can follow-up if you win the high bid on an item. You’ll be listening live over the phone, so when you hear an item you’d like to bid on, just shout out your bid and it will be relayed in the hall.
If you submit the winning bid, you will be contacted on Saturday for your payment information and to discuss mailing options. Payment by checks will be accepted, but the item will not be shipped to you until the check is received. Please note that you will be charged for shipping. Anyone in the greater Harrisburg area may also pick up an item at our office. Please contact the office prior to picking up an item. If you have any questions regarding participating by phone, again you may contact Tony Swartz.
Lots of interesting items will be up for auction, and there are two ways to participate, so join in the fun and get ready to bid.
