Planning is underway for this year’s PCB Live Auction at the state conference on Friday, October 27th at 8 PM. As always, the fun of the auction – and its financial success – depend on the items that are donated. Can we count on you to help?
As an incentive, we’ll be giving one of our PCB mugs to each person who donates an item to be auctioned. That’s right, you can have a new mug in your hands even before the bidding starts, just by bringing in something for the auction.
How can you get started? Available now on the PCB1.org website and the PCB listservs are an auction solicitation letter and marketing form that you can use to seek donations from businesses and merchants. Think of places you and your chapter members do business, present the solicitation letter, and ask for a donation that can be included in the auction. You could also ask for an ad for our conference program.
One great way to find unique auction items is to shop online. If you go to BlindMiceMart.com you can search the blind mice mega mall and find some great items including cooking equipment, labeling supplies, hardware, games, toys, and some very funny tee shirts! All would be great donations to the auction. Don’t forget that you can purchase great deals on Smile.Amazon.com and designate PCB to receive a portion of your purchase. So, not only are you finding a fantastic auction prize, but you’re making an additional contribution to PCB.
As soon as you have an item for the auction please shoot an email to Tony Swartz at firstname.lastname@example.org including the name of the item, a brief description and an estimated value.
And remember, when you bring your auction donation to us in Pittsburgh, you won’t go away empty-handed – you’ll have a brand new 16 oz. insulated PCB mug. Thanks for helping!
