As you prepare for the 2020 PCB Conference and Convention to be held virtually this fall, Pennsylvania Guide Dog Users and Supporters (PAGDUS) wants to personally invite all guide dog handlers and supporters, as well as those with small pets, to our session during the conference. This will replace our October meeting usually held on the second Wednesday of the even month. Read on for a preview and a challenge!
Join PAGDUS, the newest special interest affiliate of PCB, on Thursday, October 22 at 4 p.m. ET for a relaxing and informative hour with our furry 4-legged friends. Katie Mehrtens, nationally certified Small Animal Massage therapist, owner of The Right Spot Pet Massage, and previous guide dog user, will lead us in an at-home virtual massage for our guide dogs. What better way to bridge the distance between us during these uncertain times than learning the best massage techniques and tips for our guides to maintain a healthy lifestyle without impinging on other handlers? There will also be time for a brief Q and A at the conclusion of the massage.
We welcome all humans and their guide dogs, as well as attendees with small pets. This will be a pawsitive experience for all!
Disclaimer: This session is not meant to replace veterinary care. Please consult your vet if you have any concerns.
During our August PAGDUS meeting with Dr. Beth Brenninkmeyer of Guiding Eyes, we had a record attendance of over 70 participants. Let’s go even bigger for our conference. After all, our guides, pets, and even ourselves, deserve this relaxing time to unwind during a jam-packed weekend! Don’t delay, register for the PAGDUS session during the 2020 PCB conference today! Stay tuned for our winter edition article, which will contain some gift-wrapped tips for humans and guides, just in time for the holidays.
